How Porn Destroyed My Perception of Women

Once upon a time I thought women were delightful creatures that should be treated as queens, fed marshmallows and strawberries with whipped cream on the highest mountains while watching the most spectacular sunsets.

I vowed that my first girlfriend would be treated as such. I did just that. And 4 months later I got dumped. Apparently I was madloo2 (an Arabic word that literally means spilled), but figuratively I guess it means I was smothering.
I decided that the next girlfriend would see a different me … a tougher, less sensitive version. That went well for a good 6 months. I was getting laid.. in a conservative Muslim country .. so, let’s make that an amazing 6 months.

However, as things got more intimate and she started getting more emotional, it sort of strange reverse karma occurred. I felt like I was looking at myself in the past. This girl was the smotherer and I had become the smotheree! I dumped her for the same reason I got dumped before. Darkly ironic, I know. I went back to the first girlfriend again. I said “hey, meet the new me, I’m sure we’re gonna get along great.” I was right. I ended up marrying her.

As every couple knows there is an inverse relationship between marriage and sex. That means that the longer you are married, the less you have sex. This intensifies when kids are added to the equation, and fortunately I have two. So sex is not always on the menu.

Now I’ve reached a point where I watch porn most nights. A looot of porn. I mean I don’t just watch it to get off.  I am actually super curious. I watch things that no one else watches. I want to know what black girls look like naked, what noises Asian girls make, does anyone like to fuck midgets, what about super fat chicks, how do they do it? Basically I am feeding my sexual curiosity whenever it indulges me. Preggos, animal lovers, even fetishes I’m not into! I wonder if there is any benefit to getting it on with an amputee. See what I mean?

I didn’t think much of this bad habit at first. To my knowledge, most guys do it, so no big deal. But then I realized the impact it has on me. And this is way worse than going blind from masturbation or forming an addiction or having some sort of sexual dysfunction.

I’m talking about how this altered my perception of women, and I did not like it. It was gross. I began to objectify them. I wouldn’t look at a lady like I did before. I didn’t see a person with a soul and character in front of me. I no longer saw vivacity, humour, and charm. I saw a jiggly ass. Or a pair of bouncy tits. I began to categorize them as doable or non-doable. And the more I ventured in the creepy world of porn, the lower my standards became. The doables were outnumbering the non-doables! What had happened to me? Where was the guy who placed his girl on a pedestal and praised her beauty inside and out?

Many guys don’t realize it, but this is a serious issue. The ease of access we now have to tasteless and obscene materials has destroyed the values we once had. The internet is like the wild, wild west. All the scum and outcasts, fear mongers and vulgar vagabonds are free to roam, their filth on display for all to see.

Back in the day you used to hide one or two Playboys in a pile of Sports Illustrated and Car & Driver magazines to look at every once in a while. Now we are filtering out dozens of sexual images and videos on Instagram just so we can scroll through our feed. I know just because it’s out there doesn’t mean you have to watch. But man is weak when it comes to his libido. And the more we binge on porn, the more we devalue and depreciate the females in our lives.

In the end, if you like extra smut sauce on your happy meal, that’s fine. But the moment you start to see a woman as a piece of meat, then you have a problem … and you’re not too far from incest, child molestation, and rape. Be careful out there.
